A member in the software system is a container for a company's hierarchy of Service Areas (SADAs), Destinations, and Billing Options.

A Member will link to one more Service Areas, and will provide contact information for your company's "Main Coordinator" people in regard to your organizational membership. The Member entry also acts as the thing being invoiced for any Service Area / Destination billables.

Note that excavators are almost never exposed to the "Member" layer. Excavators only deal with Service Areas.

The Member data consists of the following information. Note that contacts can be re-used in multiple roles.

Member Name The proper name of the company.
Member_ID A short (up to 16 character) mnemonic of that member name.
Administrative Contact The person with final say over *everything*, usually referred to as the "Main Coordinator".
Alternate Contact The person to contact if the Administrative Contact is not available.
Database Contact The person with final say over any and all Service Area setups.
Billing Contact The person to send invoices to, or the contact for any billing issues.
Service Areas One or more geographic areas (territories), used to segregate stake-out requests by geography. A Member will typically cut up its physical territory into Service Areas that correspond to where the locating crews are based. More information on Service Areas can be found in Service Area Setup.
