About Coursettra

Coursettra is Dig Safely New York’s Learning Management System. When paired with the Certified Excavator Program and events, this software allows users the flexibility and access to educational resources. Coursettra allows users to create personalized accounts that are self-serving and last a lifetime.   1. Track your progress in a degree track (i.e. Certified Excavator Program).
  2. Register for Dig Safely New York events, meetings, and programs.
  3. Know when your certification is up for renewal.
  4. Be self-served in pulling certificates and attendance records.

Creating Your User Account(s)

If you have already created a Coursettra Account CONGRATULATIONS! Safety education and trainings are just clicks away, you may skip this step.

  1. When you visit learning.digsafelynewyork.com you’ll be presented with the login page.
  2. Under the password section, you’ll see “No account? Create Account”. Click "Create Account."
  3. A screen will pop up for you to enter your information
  4. You’ll be asked, “Who are you training with?” Click the arrow for the drop-down menu and you’ll be provided with one option. Select “Dig Safely New York” 
  5. Type in the company you work for. Try all variations of your company’s name to find the right one.
    1. Note: If you can’t find your company – then you can simply type in your company’s name to add it.
  6. Add your email address and confirm that email address.
  7. Then type in your username.
  8. It is good practice to make your unique email address your username to help you remember the login.
  9. Read the password requirements to create and confirm your password.
    1. Note: If you forget your password, you’ll need to know your username to recover it.
  10. Click the card icon and proceed to fill your address information.
  11. Select submit when you’ve completed the above steps.
  12. You’ll see a pop-up email to confirm your email, and then be redirected to your account.
  13. Visit your email to verify your account. Look for mail@4iqidentity.com, read the email and use the code for the verification process. This will also allow you to receive updates regarding your account status and any other important emails Dig Safely New York may send out.
    1. Note: When you forget your password or need to reset it you’ll receive an email from  mail@4iqidentity.com with a code. You’ll have 24 hours to reset the password with the code or it will expire. If someone from Dig Safely New York gives you a temporary password, you will have 7 days to reset your password or the temporary password will expire and you’ll need to start the process over again.
  14. This is the only account you’ll need for your lifetime interaction with Dig Safely New York.
  15. Any duplicate accounts will compromise your current status with Dig Safely New York.

Registration Guidelines

If you would like to register yourself for one of the courses or events offered by Dig Safely New York through our Coursettra software, please read the following guidelines:

  • It is recommended that you use your personal NOT company information when creating your Coursettra account.
  • This account will be linked to you as an individual and will follow you throughout your career.
  • You can track attendance at events, meetings, and courses that may be required by your employer.
  • All correspondences for your efforts will go directly to the contact information provided in your profile.

Individual Registration

Below is an example of registering for a course. The same process is applied when registering for any Dig Safely New York training or event.

  1. Go to Learning.DigSafelyNewYork.com
  2. Login with your unique email and password.
  3. Once redirected to the homepage: Select “Training Library” at the top of the page. – OR - Select the book icon to the left of the page.
  4. Once redirected to the “Training Library”: Under “Online Training” – select “Certified Excavator Program in Safe Digging Best Practices”. (Again, this is an example of how to register.)
  5. Select one (1) of the three (3) course options that best fits your needs.
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Register”.
  7. Once redirected to “Registration Confirmation” screen: Select “Confirm and Pay”.
  8. Payment: You will be redirected to the payment page. You can pay via PayPay or Debit/Credit Card.

Group or Third-Party Registration

If you would like to register someone else or a group of people for one of the courses or events offered by Dig Safely New York, please read the guidelines below.

Please Note: Each person that will take a course or attend an event is REQUIRED to have his or her own username and password with Coursettra.

  • One person may create accounts for as many people as necessary.
  • Each account will need a unique username and password.
  • An e-mail address can be used more than once when creating multiple accounts for one company. 
  • The e-mail provided will be the main contact for communication for each person registered. 
  • It is strongly recommended that each account has its own unique e-mail address (personal and/or company) for notification and communication purposes.

For step-by-step instruction on how to register a group or third-party, please see below:

  1. Go to Learning.DigSafelyNewYork.com
  2. Login with your unique email and password.
  3. Once redirected to the homepage: Select “Training Library” at the top of the page. – OR - Select the book icon to the left of the page.
  4. Once redirected to the “Training Library”: Select the “Training” or “Event” you would like to enroll your “Group” or “Third-Party”.
  5. Read the description to ensure it’s the correct item. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Register”.
  6. Once redirected to the registration page: You’ll see “Want to register others? Click here.” on the right side of the page. Select “Click here.”
  7. Type in the name of the person or their P# you’d like to register and select “Add”.
  8. Once you’ve added all parties select “Confirm”.
  9. You can print the confirmation or select close and all parties will be in the course.

Note: If you are already in the course you can still register others.

Registering With a Link

Follow the instructions below if you have received a link similar to the one below, or would like to register for an event listed on the Dig Safely New York website. 

Example: learning.digsafelynewyork.com/4iq/publicseminar/Online753Course

  1. Once redirected: Read the description carefully to verify you’re registering for the correct course. Then, select “Register Here”.
  2. A window will pop-up and you’ll be asked if you have a login.
    1. Select yes if you do.
    2. Select No if you don’t, then refer to “Create Your Coursettra Account” for assistance.
  3. When you login you’ll have three different options:
    1. Option 1 – If you’re registering just yourself select “Just Me”.
    2. Option 2 – If you’re registering yourself and others select “Me and Others”.
    3. Option 3 – If you’re registering others and not you select “Not Me, Others”.
  4. Once you’ve selected your option – you’ll see a pop-up box for “CEP Renewal” when you register for this court. Click the box and confirm.
  5. Option Selection:
    1. If you selected Option 1 – select register and you’re in the course.
    2. If you selected Option 2 – Your name will already be selected. You just need to select others you’d like to register and click enroll.
    3. If you selected Option 3 – You will not be selected. Just select those you’d like to register and click enroll.
  6. Once you’ve completed either of these options, you’ll be able to print your registration or click exit.
  7. Next, login to your account, and the course you registered in will automatically appear and you’ll be ready to start.

Congratulations! You have finished the registration process, be sure to have your confirmation with you when you arrive at your class or event.
